This is an original acrylic painting. It measures 9x12" and is gallery wrapped. No frame is required.Each painting comes with a storycard that that gives an explanation of the subject. The paintings are very dimensional due to the mixed media technique I use. I start with a palette knife and modeling paste, when the base of my painting is built up I paint the entire canvas a dark blue. Then I begin the actual painting of the canvas in acrylic paints. They are all individually painted and thus every one os a little different. They look great hung in small groupings.

When Christianity came to Ireland
in the 5th century many of the Celtic
standing stones and water springs
were replaced by Celtic Crosses and
holy wells or even churches. Much of
the symbolism of the Celts was adapted
into the Christian teachings. The circle
around the cross symbolizes the sun
which was an essential element in the
belief system in pre-Christian Ireland.
